Basic Life Support including CPR & AED

Basic Life Support is essential to buy some valuable time until the emergency medical aid arrives. BLS procedure is mainly used on people experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure.
Basic first aid helps ensure that the right methods of administering medical assistance are provided. Knowing how to help a person is just as crucial in emergencies. It only takes six minutes for the human brain to expire due to lack of oxygen.
Care Certificate training course is for Health Care Assistants and Support Workers to increase knowledge of the responsibilities relating to own care role, as well as relevant legislation. It covers job descriptions, person centred care, understanding code of practices and the basics of government legislation and dealing with conflicts at work.
We support our HCA and Support workers to progress to NVQ all levels and we support them to get the funding for this.
Infection prevention and control
This course defines infection prevention and control and explaining the impact of good and bad infection control. It details the legislation that applies to infection control, the different types of microorganisms, how bacteria are transmitted, the chain of infection among others.
Dementia Awareness
Dementia is a chronic progressive problem of cognition – which is failure of the brain’s functions. IT affects people at different stages of life, it affects different parts of the brain, and it affects it at different speeds.
This course gives you an overview of the common types and symptoms of dementia as well as how it can affect the brain in different ways. It covers strategies to use with clients with dementia and dealing with challenging behaviour. The course is intended for anyone who works with or around people that may be suffering with dementia.
